1. reference material
Communication regarding the commission will take place through Etsy, Instagram, or Telegram, depending on your preferred platform. If you are unable to use any of these services, please discuss it with me before making any payment.
• I require visual references for your commission, particularly for your character. I am unable to work effectively with character references in writing alone, but supplemental written details are welcome and encouraged!
• References I will not accept include:
- References with nudity, sexually explicit, or highly suggestive content.
- AI generated reference sheets or character designs.
- Heavily shaded references (unless you include a non-shaded reference as well)
• Please use standard file formats like .png, .pdf, .jpg, or .gif for your reference files. I’m unable to accept .tgz, .app, .dmg, .doc, .sys, or .zip files due to potential security risks.
2. Payment & cancellation
• Payment must be paid upfront; payment plans not available for orders under $100.
• I can do simple mock-ups or sketches before payment. I will not begin coloring, lining, or refining until I receive payment.
• Commissioners have the right to cancel a commission at any time. Refund amounts will depend on the stage of completion; anything before lineart & coloring will be 100% refunded.
• I retain the right to decline or cancel a commission at any stage.
• I will not complete a commission once it has been canceled or refunded.
• If a commission is refunded or canceled, I reserve the right to re-purpose and re-sell the work, with alterations to remove any major resemblance to your character.
• If the commissioner is unable to be contacted for 30 days (without notice), the commission will be considered abandoned. The project will be treated like a canceled commission and re-purposed.
• If my Terms of Service are violated, the commission will be terminated. Re-funds are dependent on the severity of violation.
• Payments can be made through PayPal or Etsy. If you are from New Zealand, you also have the option to pay via bank transfer (most preferred). If none of these options work for you, feel free to reach out, and we can discuss alternative arrangements.
3. ownership & usage
• Please credit me (@RAWRBARKS) as the original designer. Feel free to tag me as well, though it is not required. I love seeing my designs used!
• You may resell, trade, or gift the character, but you must inform the new owner of these terms —these terms cannot be changed or altered if the character still predominantly uses my original design. This does not apply to redesign commissions.
• Do not edit my artwork to be nsfw or suggestive. I am uncomfortable with my art being sexualised or altered in a sexual manner. However, I acknowledge your right as the owner to include the character in nsfw or suggestive topics if you wish, but I request you do not use or edit the original artwork to do so.
